The Word Becomes Flesh
The greatest demonstration of God's love is found in this one verse. The eternal Word, Jesus Christ, stepped into our world and became fully human without ceasing to be fully God.
What an incredible truth to hide in our hearts!
Jesus didn't remain distant from us. He entered our broken world, took on human flesh, and lived among us. He experienced hunger, weariness, sorrow, rejection, temptation, and suffering. He understands our joys and our struggles because He walked this earth just as we do, yet without sin.
John tells us that Jesus was "full of grace and truth."Â In Him we find the mercy we desperately need and the truth that sets us free. When we look at Jesus, we see the very heart and character of God.
Pause for a moment and consider the wonder of that. The One who spoke the galaxies into existence chose to step into His own creation. The One who set every star in its place knows your name. The One who tells the sun when to rise, who marks the boundaries of the oceans, who sustains every living thing by His power, chose to come near, not from a distance, but personally. He came so you could know Him, walk with Him, and experience His love and forgiveness.
No matter what today brings, you are never alone. The Creator of the universe is also your Savior, and He faithfully walks with those who trust in Him.
